What Is the She-Shot?
For a number of women, a decreased libido, vaginal dryness, and similar concerns are common problems faced throughout the aging process. At Johnson Family Medical, we offer a rejuvenating solution called the She-Shot, which uses a patient's own platelet-rich blood plasma (PRP) to stimulate collagen production in vaginal tissues. The She-Shot can help counteract vaginal laxity following childbirth, enhance bladder control affected by incontinence, and increase sexual arousal in women, among providing other benefits. This PRP treatment is administered by certified nurse injector, who is trained and credentialed by the Cellular Medicine Association to provide the She-Shot for Frisco, TX patients. They will review your needs and help you decide if the She-Shot is right for you.

How Does the She-Shot Procedure Work?
The She-Shot is a very quick outpatient procedure performed at Johnson Family Medical. A small sample of your blood will be drawn and placed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma, which contains potent growth factor components. These nutrients will then be carefully injected into the vaginal area, initiating the production of new collagen and healthy cells. Many Frisco, TX women who receive the She-Shot experience an improvement in vaginal laxity and enhanced sexual stimulation and sensation, along with other benefits.
She-Shot FAQs
Does the She-Shot hurt?
You will experience little to no discomfort during the She-Shot injection process. Patients are numbed with a topical cream to minimize any discomfort you may feel from the injection. Some may experience a slight pinch or warm sensation, but we have never had a complaint of pain.
How long does it take for the She-Shot to start working?
It takes about two to three weeks for new cells to begin forming, and the full effects can be expected within two to three months.
Are there any side effects to the She-Shot?
As with any injection, there may be some soreness at the injection site, but this usually lasts for only 24 hours.
Most patients will have little to no side effects from the She-Shot; however, in some cases, there have been reported effects including spontaneous orgasm, sexual arousal during urination, ejaculatory orgasm, prolonged sexual arousal, and sensitivity. These experiences are temporary.
Some reported decreased sensation for a few days up to two weeks after the procedure but these effects were also transitory.
Most patients can have intercourse 24 hours after the procedure, however, you should be aware of your body and the healing process. Your doctor will help recommend the best course of action post-procedure.
How long do the She-Shot effects last?
Results can vary for every patient, but most report lasting results for one to three years. Many women choose to have a refresher procedure every 18 months to maintain results.
