What Is BOTOX and Dysport?
As women and men mature, facial lines and wrinkles often become more pronounced and lead to an aging appearance of the skin. With BOTOX Cosmetic or Dysport wrinkle relaxers, however, we can temporarily smooth the appearance of moderate to severe Crow's feet, frown lines ("elevens"), and horizontal forehead creases. BOTOX and Dysport are a filtered type A strain of botulinum toxin. These neurotoxin treatments function to temporarily relax the muscles that cause facial movements, letting the skin rebound and take on a smoother texture. At Johnson Family Medical BOTOX and Dysport treatments are a minimally invasive option to help patients attain or maintain a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance. Am I A Candidate For BOTOX and Dysport?
Women and men who prefer a nonsurgical solution to relax frown lines, forehead creases, or Crow's feet may be excellent candidates for BOTOX and/or Dysport injections at Johnson Family Medical. This can be a good cosmetic option if you are bothered by prominent glabellar lines ("11" lines between the eyes) that give you a tired or older facial appearance. Both BOTOX and Dysport have gained a following among younger individuals, too. Even though people in their 20s and 30s may not yet show the early signs of aging, BOTOX or Dysport may be utilized as a preventive solution to fend off the natural aging process by temporarily reducing or delaying the advancement of age-related lines.
BOTOX® and Dysport® Reviews
How Do BOTOX and dysport Work?
During your aesthetic consultation at Johnson Family Medical, one of our nurse injectors will perform a facial evaluation to help you determine which areas may benefit from treatment. Given that BOTOX and Dysport are performed as quick, in-office services, your injections can typically be administered during the same visit. The formula will be carefully injected into the specified areas of your forehead or upper face. BOTOX and Dysport may provide up to four months of natural-looking cosmetic enhancements for many individuals. Our injector will recommend how often you should receive injections as part of a personalized plan to help you reach your desired outcomes.
BOTOX and Dysport FAQ
How many BOTOX or Dysport treatments will I need?
We select how many BOTOX or Dysport sessions you need based on your individual goals and the severity of your lines and wrinkles. Our certified nurse injector will talk with you about addressing areas near the brow, on the forehead, or underneath the eyes. To maintain your aesthetic results, we may suggest undergoing injections every few months at Johnson Family Medical. A general range of dosage per area:
BOTOX
Between Eyebrows: (16-25 Units)
Forehead: (10-20 Units)
Crow's Feet: (16-24 Units, both sides)
Dysport
Between Eyebrows: (50-60 Units)
Forehead: (30-60 Units)
Crow's Feet: (30-70 Units, both sides)
Other medically accepted areas: eyebrow lift, platysmal bands of neck, back of the jaw for slimmer face shape, lift the corners of the mouth (smile lift), under-eye fine lines, dimpling chin, gummy smile, underarms, nasal bunny lines, smoker's lip lines.
How much do BOTOX and Dysport cost?
BOTOX $10 per Unit
Dysport $4.25 per Unit
Can you combine BOTOX or Dysport with other nonsurgical services?
We can combine BOTOX or Dysport with other cosmetic treatments to address signs of aging. More often than not, combining treatments is the most effective way to achieve desired results. If you have more profound and more severe lines, our team may recommend using a dermal filler for the smoothest outcomes. To further enhance your youthful, radiant appearance, neurotoxins can be combined with other treatments such as PRP or microneedling.
Is there a comparable aesthetic injectable option?
BOTOX and Dysport are types of wrinkle relaxers that compete within a market of other effective solutions, including XEOMIN® and Jeuveau®. During a comprehensive consultation, our team will talk with you about the best cosmetic injection option for you and your desired goals.
What's the difference between fillers and wrinkle reducers?
While wrinkle relaxers, like BOTOX and Dysport, smooth fine lines by temporarily blocking your muscle contractions, dermal fillers are a different collection of aesthetic options that add volume to the face. Dermal fillers treat sunken cheeks, add volume to the lips, or soften static wrinkles. Your nurse injector can discuss whether dermal fillers (like Revanesse® Versa™ or JUVÉDERM®) may complement your BOTOX and Dysport results.
